We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for our esteemed client in Lexington, IN. This will be an onsite 4 day work week - 10 hour shift. Details as below:
Duties:
- Write and develop CNC programs from scratch using G-code for new parts
- Prototype and prove out new components before releasing to production
- Optimize machining processes for cycle time, quality, and efficiency
- Design and improve tooling, fixturing, and work holding solutions
- Collaborate with design engineering on new product introduction
- Troubleshoot machining issues directly on the shop floor
- Support machinists by ensuring programs are accurate and production-ready
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean, efficiency, cost reduction)
- Maintain documentation for processes and programming standards
Required Skills (Must Have):
- Ability to write CNC programs from scratch in G-code (critical)
- Strong CNC machining background (mills + lathes)
- Experience with multi-axis machines (beyond basic 2–3 axis)
- Hands-on experience proving out new parts and processes
- Solid understanding of tooling, fixturing, and machining fundamentals
- Comfortable working directly on the shop floor with machinists
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with Mazak, Okuma, Nakamura, Brother, or Swiss machines
- CAD/CAM experience (Mastercam, SolidWorks)
- Background in precision machining (tight tolerances)
- Experience in valve manufacturing or similar industries
- Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement exposure
