BS in Mechanical Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering degree with emphasis towards Manufacturing.
Minimum 7 years of actual “hands-on” job experience in a professional work/manufacturing environment.No exceptions
.Experience and thorough understanding in working with PLC’s and controls such as Sensors, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Vision systems and the ability to program.
Experience with DFMA, SPC, FMEA, and DOE
Proficiency in 3D solid modeling/2D drafting CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
Knowledge of KPP’s (Key Performance Parameters), KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and KPC’s (Key Product Characteristics).
Ability to travel as required. Light travel – 5 to 10%
Knowledge of ASTM test methods a plus.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for Manufacturing Engineering projects on the floor associated to R&D line trials.
Mechanical Control Devices/Skills: good working knowledge of pushbuttons, limit switches, level switches, pneumatics, hydraulics, aluminum framework for machine builds, etc.
Electrical Device Control/Skills: good working knowledge of PLC’s, solenoids, sensors, motors, and vision systems, etc…
Providing DFMA (design for manufacturing assembly) guidance and development of cost-effective, high-volume manufacturing, assembly and packaging methods.
Responsible for work-cell and fixture design and improvement as required.
