Job Description
Overview of Position / Role Summary
• Demonstrates leadership in communicating, developing, and executing manufacturing schedules.
• Supports daily activities in process development, validation, and change management.
• Uses experience and expertise to solve problems and execute objectives.
• Ensures project goals and timelines are met for assigned manufacturing/automation projects.
Essential Responsibilities
• Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic components.
• Program and integrate ABB Robots and Cobot systems.
• Complete and support Automation Product Builds.
• Support product design for automated work‑cell components and vision systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and complex automated system drawings.
• Collaborate with the automation team to qualify automated systems.
• Develop and design hardware and software for automation solutions (including end‑of‑arm tooling and fixtures).
• Train technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment.
• Ensure proper use of power tools and measuring equipment.
• Travel approximately 20% to client locations for system integration.
Qualifications / Requirements
• B.S. in Engineering, Technical Practice, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, quality, or production/manufacturing operations (automotive or related industry preferred).
• Strong ABB Robot/Cobot programming capabilities.
• Electrical experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of HMI software.
• Previous experience with pneumatics.
Desired Characteristics
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to program multiple robot/cobot platforms (e.g., Fanuc, UR).
• Strong teamwork capability.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
• Proficiency in CAD and SolidWorks.
