Manufacturing Capital Projects Engineer (W2)

We are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to support capital and operational projects in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role involves working with process equipment such as tanks, heat exchangers, and boiler systems, while coordinating installations, system modifications, and troubleshooting activities in active production areas.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support execution of capital and operational projects involving process equipment and system upgrades
  • Read, interpret, and trace P&IDs for troubleshooting, system understanding, and field execution
  • Coordinate line breaks, system tie-ins, and circuit modifications in live manufacturing environments
  • Work closely with production teams to schedule downtime and minimize operational disruption
  • Participate in and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for safe field work execution
  • Perform field walkdowns, troubleshooting, and support mechanical installations/modifications
  • Assist with equipment optimization, process improvements, and minor design changes
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, EHS, and Quality teams to meet safety and compliance standards
  • Update technical documentation including P&IDs, SOPs, and change controls
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and risks; provide progress updates to stakeholders
  • Support onsite contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with site procedures


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field
  • 2–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of process equipment such as tanks, heat exchangers, and boilers
  • Experience reading and working with P&IDs in production settings
  • Familiarity with LOTO and industrial safety practices
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with willingness to work hands-on in the field
  • Experience in GMP-regulated environments preferred
  • Ability to coordinate projects during shutdowns or planned downtime windows
  • Prior project coordination or project lead experience is a plus
  • Must be able to work onsite in Minster, OH, with occasional off-hours or weekend support as needed
