Patients may not ever hear of the job title “Stem Cell Laboratory Manager” but chances are they have felt the effects of that position. This manager is the one who oversees the team that delivers services to support the Stem Cell and HLA Laboratories of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program. In short, this personkeeps things running the way it should from the start to finish for each patient experience.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPCT
Define, assess, documentand maintaininformation related to employee competencies in accordance with regulatory and accrediting organizations.
Makedecisions for direct reports and performs people management activities such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff planning, and interviews.
Collaboratewith other members of management to integrate the service into the program and overall hospital goals.
Evaluatelaboratory services and procedures including making recommendations and implementing the changes.
Coordinateprogram accreditation activities including correspondence with organizations, submission of documentation, and dissemination of information throughout the program.
Develop, implementand managepolicies and a budget, ensuring cost control and expenses are in alignment with the budget.
OverseeCDM and coding to ensure information is accurate, including maintaining cost accounting, reviewing revenue and charge reports and addressing any discrepancies that are uncovered.
Performquality audits and collects program data, analyzing the data and reporting out on program results.
Research, write, and implementtechnical and administrative SOPs and policies, training documents, and competency assessments
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/Science or Chemistry or Life Science - Required
Master's Degree in Biology or Life Science - Preferred
4 years experience in a lab with high complexity testing- Required
Medical Technology/ Science (MT or CLS) - Required -OR-
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) - Required
