In this role, you will execute SQFI’s business development strategy by generating pipelines, engaging prospective partners, and converting opportunities into measurable revenue growth. You’ll play a key role in expanding SQFI adoption through hands-on outreach, relationship building, and sales execution.



What You’ll Do in This Role:

  • Assist the Vice President in executing the business development and sales process with prospective and existing customers, certification bodies, and other strategic partners to extend SQFI across new and existing categories in North America.
  • Conduct outbound business development engagement with prospective supplier site leads identified via CRM digital marketing strategies.
  • Leverage business intelligence to identify target categories, suppliers, and companies, and uncover revenue opportunities for SQFI solutions.
  • Represent SQFI with partners to support client acquisition through sales calls, site visits, supplier meetings, webinars, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations (in person and virtually) to partners and suppliers on business development goals and strategies utilizing Microsoft Office 365 or other tools.
  • Meet quarterly sales targets for SQF training and site registration through digital marketing, outreach, and stakeholder relationship development.
  • Prepare and submit business development activities and sales reports to management as required.
  • Collaborate with marketing and internal SQFI/FMI teams to develop business development materials, improve processes, and support new service development.


Education and Skills You’ll Need to Be Successful:

  • A minimum of three to five years of business development experience within the food/consumer products industry with knowledge of food certification, SQFI programs and food industry sector operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, economics, food industry, or related field.
  • Ability to travel as needed for partner meetings and industry events.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the business development and sales process.
  • Must be a quick learner with strong negotiating skills and the ability to sell the SQFI standard in a compelling way.
  • Must be a strong written and oral communicator who can network within different functions with various levels of leadership and others within our customer base as well as internal stakeholders. Strong presentation skills are a must.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 programs, specifically Excel and knowledge of business analytics tools and CRM information systems (such as Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Experience working in a sales environment responsible for meeting (or exceeding) assigned targets is a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of intellectual curiosity, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Must be an organized, self-directed individual with excellent time and project management skills with an ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with strict attention to detail.
