Job Duties and Responsibilities

The rapid expansion of 5G architecture creates significant challenges in maintaining stability across complex IP Transport and Network domains. This role solves the problem of network volatility by leading end-to-end NOC operations and ensuring rapid resolution of high-severity incidents in a 24/7 environment. Success requires bridging the gap between proactive monitoring strategies and reactive vendor management to maintain high availability for mission-critical services. By driving structural change governance and deep-dive technical analysis, this leader ensures a resilient transport infrastructure that supports seamless network performance.

What Success Looks Like (Objectives)
  • Leadership of 24/7 NOC operations for IP Transport and Network domains to ensure maximum uptime across the hybrid network.

  • Reduction of Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) through optimized incident lifecycle governance and rapid triage of Sev1 and Sev2 outages.

  • Implementation of an end-to-end monitoring strategy utilizing automation frameworks to achieve proactive alarm detection.

  • Integration of AI Application skills to enhance observability, using machine learning to correlate system traces and accelerate root cause identification.

  • Accountability for vendor SLA compliance and the delivery of comprehensive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate repeat network failures.

  • Development of a high-performing team of Subject Matter Experts through technical mentorship and a culture of operational excellence.


Skills, Experience and Requirements

Core Skills and Competencies (What you’ll bring)
  • Extensive leadership experience managing complex network operations and people in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.

  • Mastery of IP Routing protocols such as BGP and IS-IS, alongside deep knowledge of SR-MPLS and transport technologies.

  • AI Application skills, specifically the ability to leverage intelligent observability tools for automated packet analysis and system diagnostics.

  • Advanced technical expertise in 5G architecture, including Core, RAN, and cloud-native virtualized network functions.

  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management capabilities for collaborating with cross-functional Engineering and Vendor teams.

  • Critical experience managing transport providers like AT&T, Zayo, and Lumen to ensure strict adherence to SLA and RFO delivery.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

  • Minimum Experience: 4 to 8 years of experience in network operations or transport engineering.

  • Required Technical Skills:

    • Cisco Certified: CCNA / CCNP.

    • Proficiency with ITSM tools, specifically ServiceNow for Incident and Change Management.

    • Hands-on experience with packet capture and system-level trace analysis tools.


Salary Ranges

Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
