Position Summary

The Manager, Merchandise Planning Systems and Reporting plays a critical role in bridging the gap between IT and key business functions, including sales, merchandising, and planning. This role ensures the integrity, accessibility, and strategic utility of data across the organization by supporting the development and implementation of new planning tools, reporting systems, and business analytics. This individual will partner closely with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting capabilities, evolve planning systems, and drive improved decision-making through accurate and timely data. The role also supports key inventory management and planning initiatives and champions data governance practices.


Key Responsibilities

Data Governance & Management

  • Partner with IT to define and implement master data governance frameworks that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across brands and channels.
  • Monitor data quality metrics, identify root causes of issues, and recommend or execute corrective actions as necessary.


Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Support the design, testing, and rollout of BI reports and dashboards in partnership with IT and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and conduct training and provide ongoing support for end users to drive optimal use of BI tools and ensure adoption of best practices.


Planning & Merchandising System Support

  • Manage and validate data that feeds into current planning and merchandising tools to ensure integrity and functionality.
  • Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of new planning applications and system enhancements. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in partnership with IT.
  • Own ongoing system administration, training, and process documentation related to planning tools.
  • Provide monthly support to planning and forecasting teams for key brands and channels.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with IT, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to align on analytics strategies, tool development, and ongoing data needs.
  • Serve as a key liaison between technical and business teams, ensuring clarity in project goals and deliverables.


Sales, Planning & Inventory Support

  • Provide reporting, analysis, and insights that support inventory and sales planning across all channels.
  • Support regular and ad hoc reporting needs related to:

  -Sales and gross margin performance metrics

-Ecommerce KPIs and digital channel performance

-Inventory health and aged inventory management

-Forecasting and planning accuracy


Tool & Process Evolution

  • Continuously evaluate current planning, forecasting, and BI tools to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support process enhancements that streamline reporting and improve data accuracy and accessibility across the organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in planning and reporting with a focus on business intelligence, data governance, and analytics
  • Previous systems implementation experience required
  • Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Adaptable to change and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
