About the Firm

A global institutional asset manager with a rapidly scaling US Private Credit platform backed by long-term insurance capital. The broader platform manages a substantial book globally and continues to expand across multiple private credit strategies.

About the Role

This is a senior execution and underwriting leadership role within the US Private Credit platform, serving as a key lieutenant to the sector head. The individual will be responsible for driving end-to-end transaction execution, structuring, and credit decisioning across a diversified portfolio. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, take ownership of complex transactions, and play a critical role in building out a specialized vertical within the platform.

This is a deal leadership seat — not support, not origination-only, and not a junior step-up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the sector head to lead underwriting, structuring, and execution of private credit investments
  • Take full ownership of transaction workstreams from evaluation and screening through structuring, negotiation, and close
  • Drive investment committee process, including preparation and presentation of detailed credit memos
  • Perform advanced credit underwriting including downside analysis, covenant structuring, and risk mitigation
  • Lead review and negotiation of legal documentation with internal legal teams and external counsel
  • Oversee and mentor junior team members on live deals and portfolio monitoring
  • Collaborate with global colleagues and internal stakeholders across PMs, Ratings, and Legal
  • Monitor portfolio investments including performance tracking, amendments, and approvals
  • Contribute to strategy development and broader platform initiatives

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in private credit, direct lending, or project finance/specialty lending at a bank
  • Proven ability to lead transactions end-to-end, not just support them
  • Deep experience in credit underwriting, deal structuring, and legal documentation and negotiation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deal processes and junior team members

Strongly Preferred

  • Buy-side credit or insurance asset management experience
  • Track record of leading complex, structured transactions
  • Experience within investment-grade or structured credit frameworks
