About the Job:

“Trust in Every Bite” is a core value of Yum! Brands.  The Manager, Food Safety and Quality Assurance is critical to ensuring that we live up to this value through creating and leading implementation of strategies that effectively manage food safety and quality risks.  This role will lead Yum! Brands’ Supplier Food Safety Governance program and will publish, communicate, coach, and plan for worldwide adoption of policies, standards, and audit programs across our food supply chain. Critical accountabilities for this role include working with Business Units, Franchisees, Suppliers, Audit Companies, Certification Program Owners, and other key stakeholders to implement global approaches to measure and manage food safety & quality risks from the supply chain.  The position will also support Business Units with problem solving, crisis management and acceptance of alternative standards, where appropriate. Additionally, this role carries the responsibility for driving continuous improvement strategies based on analysis of Yum!’s Food Safety compliance status and performance trends.

Salary Range: 

$125,200-$147,200 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.

Responsibilities:

The global markets for Yum! Brands are diverse and complex. Local teams within Brands and Business Units rely upon Yum! FSQA to provide Policy, Standards and Measurement Tools to manage risks and drive continuous improvement in supplier compliance and performance.

  • Provide direct feedback and insights on Brand/Business Unit status to Director of Food Safety & QA and Chief Food Safety Officer.
  • Deliver coaching and training to International Business Units on topics including but not limited to: Yum! supplier Policies & Standards, Crisis Management, and Ingredient Risk Classification.
  • Head the evolution of supplier facing Yum! Supplier Food Safety Programs and transition to new means of compliance and stronger risk management.
  • Lead the organization facing Food Safety and Quality Management system implementation across the Business Units and Brands through considered solutions ensuring end-to-end effective quality processes are implemented and in place.
  • Partner with business units and cross functional partners to identify opportunities and strategies for improving supplier FSQA programs.
  • Coach Business Units and Global Brand teams (food innovation, Supply Chain, development, operations) through unique business challenges, utilizing risk management approaches and ensuring food safety is never compromised.
  • Improve processes and approaches that reduce complexity while maintaining a focus on effectively managing food safety and quality risks.
  • Implement strategies ensuring data driven decision making in linking corrective action insights to performance metrics as a measure of supplier risk for food safety and quality.
  • Establish and support strategies to standardize and enhance value from 3rd party supplier audit programs.
  • Manage partnerships with GFSI, Certification Program Owners, and other key industry organizations that support our food safety programs.
  • Share best practice and know-how with global community via calls, e-conferences, market visits.
