Manager, Desktop Engineering & M365 Applications

Gotham Technology Group
New York, NY

Our client is looking for a hands-on technical leader to join their End User Computing team as a Manager, Desktop & Applications Engineering.

In this senior leadership role, you will own the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of the firm’s desktop environment and enterprise application portfolio — with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 and our core legal technology stack (iManage, Litera, BigHand, and related platforms).

You will lead a team of desktop engineers and application analysts while driving a modern, cloud-first endpoint experience that directly supports the productivity of our attorneys and business professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of desktop engineers and application analysts
  • Define and execute the firm’s modern desktop strategy leveraging Microsoft Intune, M365, and cloud capabilities
  • Own the full lifecycle of legal and enterprise applications (packaging, testing, deployment, patching & upgrades)
  • Serve as the firm’s SME for legal desktop applications including iManage Work 10, Litera suite, BigHand, IntApp Time, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Manage Level 3 escalations with urgency — driving root cause analysis and permanent resolutions
  • Champion continuous improvement across desktop engineering, application performance, and user experience
  • Partner with senior leadership to align desktop and application strategy with the firm’s broader technology goals

What You Bring:

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in desktop engineering, application packaging, and endpoint management
  • Previous people leadership experience (required)
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft 365, Intune, Group Policy, Windows OS customization, and enterprise troubleshooting
  • In-depth knowledge of legal applications (iManage, Litera, BigHand, etc.)
  • Advanced PowerShell skills and experience with profile management tools (FSLogix, etc.)
  • Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
