Our client is looking for a hands-on technical leader to join their End User Computing team as a Manager, Desktop & Applications Engineering.
In this senior leadership role, you will own the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of the firm’s desktop environment and enterprise application portfolio — with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 and our core legal technology stack (iManage, Litera, BigHand, and related platforms).
You will lead a team of desktop engineers and application analysts while driving a modern, cloud-first endpoint experience that directly supports the productivity of our attorneys and business professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of desktop engineers and application analysts
- Define and execute the firm’s modern desktop strategy leveraging Microsoft Intune, M365, and cloud capabilities
- Own the full lifecycle of legal and enterprise applications (packaging, testing, deployment, patching & upgrades)
- Serve as the firm’s SME for legal desktop applications including iManage Work 10, Litera suite, BigHand, IntApp Time, and Adobe Acrobat
- Manage Level 3 escalations with urgency — driving root cause analysis and permanent resolutions
- Champion continuous improvement across desktop engineering, application performance, and user experience
- Partner with senior leadership to align desktop and application strategy with the firm’s broader technology goals
What You Bring:
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in desktop engineering, application packaging, and endpoint management
- Previous people leadership experience (required)
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365, Intune, Group Policy, Windows OS customization, and enterprise troubleshooting
- In-depth knowledge of legal applications (iManage, Litera, BigHand, etc.)
- Advanced PowerShell skills and experience with profile management tools (FSLogix, etc.)
- Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
