Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will work on-site at a large, modern corporate technology facility in Omaha, providing hands-on maintenance support for the entire building. This role covers a wide range of tasks, from routine repairs to more complex building systems work, while delivering excellent customer service to employees who submit maintenance requests through a ticketing system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance, including repairing or replacing doors, lights, desks, and other facility fixtures as needed.
  • Support flooring maintenance tasks such as changing or repairing carpet and addressing related issues in office and common areas.
  • Assist with HVAC-related maintenance, including troubleshooting and coordinating repairs to maintain comfortable building conditions.
  • Carry out basic plumbing tasks, such as addressing leaks, clogs, and fixture repairs throughout the facility.
  • Complete carpentry-related work, including minor construction, repairs, and adjustments to office furniture and building components.
  • Use a computerized ticketing system to receive, track, and close maintenance requests from building occupants.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees who submit maintenance tickets, providing timely updates and courteous customer service.
  • Work safely and efficiently around employees and in occupied spaces, minimizing disruption to their work.
  • Respond to unique or specialized maintenance requests that may arise in a dynamic tech-focused environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed, responding to after-hours maintenance issues and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and time spent on each ticket in the ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and facilities team members to ensure the building remains clean, functional, and well-maintained.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience working with computers and operating within a ticketing or work order system.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial or building maintenance, handling a variety of repair and upkeep tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC systems in a commercial setting, including basic troubleshooting and support.
  • Practical plumbing skills, including the ability to diagnose and resolve common plumbing issues.
  • Carpentry skills for performing repairs and minor construction or modifications within the facility.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with building occupants.
  • Ability to work safely in a clean, professional environment while managing multiple maintenance requests.
  • Comfort using computers and technology to manage work orders and communicate with internal stakeholders.

Work Environment

This role is fully on-site in a large, five-floor corporate building in Omaha that features a gym, coffee bar, conference rooms, and high-end amenities. The facility is clean, professional, and equipped with modern technology throughout. You will work in and around office spaces, common areas, and specialized rooms, using computers and a ticketing system to manage tasks. The environment is fast-paced yet organized, with a strong emphasis on professionalism, safety, and customer service. On-call scenarios may occur, and when called in after hours, you receive a minimum of four hours of pay per call, with flexibility provided if a major issue keeps you on-site for an extended period.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
