Maintenance Technician (2nd and 3rd Shift)

Job Description

This role focuses on performing industrial maintenance in a clean, climate-controlled food production facility on 2nd and 3rd shifts. The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs electrical and mechanical issues on a wide range of electro-mechanical equipment used in food and beverage production, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform industrial maintenance on electro-mechanical equipment used in food and beverage production, including conveyors, mixers, fillers, packaging machinery, and refrigeration systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues with production equipment to identify root causes of malfunctions and implement effective repairs.
  • Carry out routine and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to detect wear, damage, or potential failures and take corrective action as needed.
  • Work with electrical systems, including 3-phase power, to safely install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical components.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic systems and automation components associated with production machinery.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and support continuous operation of the facility.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety procedures while working in a food production environment.

Essential Skills

  • 2–4 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • 2–3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • 2+ years of mechanical and electrical industrial experience.
  • 2+ years of electrical or industrial electrical experience, including work with 3-phase power.
  • 1+ years of maintenance experience in a food or GMP-regulated environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to maintain and repair electro-mechanical equipment such as conveyors, mixers, fillers, packaging machinery, and refrigeration systems.
  • Experience working with hydraulics and automation in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift as required by the facility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a food and beverage production facility or similar clean manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and related maintenance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with production and maintenance teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and maintenance priorities.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled food production facility that operates on 2nd and 3rd shifts. The scheduled hours for the 2nd shift position are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The environment is governed by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and team members must follow all GMP requirements, including wearing appropriate hair nets and beard nets. Work centers around industrial food and beverage production equipment, including conveyors, mixers, fillers, packaging machinery, refrigeration systems, and associated electrical, hydraulic, and automation components.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55640.00 - $62316.00/yr.
