Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:30 AM to 2 PM

OT - 10 to 20 hours potentially a week

Work Environment

  • Meat manufacturing and production facility
  • Cold environment: ~40°F, with areas as low as 0°F


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare production equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain ongoing communication with:
  • Operators
  • Maintenance team
  • Site leadership
  • Enter and track repairs in SAP system
  • Support facility upkeep including general maintenance tasks

Equipment Used

  • Forklift
  • Electric pallet jack
  • Multimeter
  • TIG/MIG welder
  • Hand and power tools (bench grinder, drill press, etc.)
  • Blade sharpening equipment
  • Food-grade lubricants

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in varying temperatures


PPE Requirements (Day 1)

  • Steel-toe boots (required)
  • Warm clothing recommended
  • All additional PPE provided onsite

Required Experience (3–5 Years)

Candidates should have hands-on experience in maintenance, including:

Electrical

  • Work with 480V, 277V, 3-phase systems
  • 220V/120V single-phase systems
  • Troubleshoot wiring and balance loads
  • Read electrical and hydraulic schematics

Plumbing

  • Run drain lines
  • Maintain oil-water separators
  • Repair fixtures (sinks, toilets, urinals)
  • Replace packings, O-rings, and water heaters

HVAC

  • Replace belts and filters
  • Clean condensers
  • Adjust VAV boxes
  • Monitor building temperatures

General Maintenance Knowledge

  • Lighting ballasts
  • Dock levelers & trailer restraints
  • High-speed doors
  • Motors, starters, and frequency drives
  • Exhaust fans & occupancy sensors
  • Baseboard heaters

[!--StartFragment--]3-5 Years of Experience, Responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks. Electrical skills must include the ability to work on 480, 277, 3-phase, and 220, 120 single-phase, to balance loads, troubleshoot wiring, and read wiring and hydraulic schematics. Plumbing skills must include the ability to run drain lines, clean oil-water separators, replace faucet packings, O-rings, and work on sinks, toilets, urinals, hot water heaters, and power washers. HVAC ability should include the ability to replace belts, keep condensers clean, adjust VAV boxes, change filters, and monitor building temperatures. Must have general knowledge to work on the following: lighting ballast, HVAC fan power boxes, dock levelers, trailer restraints, high speed doors, exhaust fans, frequency drives, starters and motors, occupancy sensors, and baseboard heaters. Assists in repairs and preventative maintenance to HVAC and industrial refrigeration systems. Prepares work repairs through the SAP system. General maintenance tasks will include painting, drywall patching, black top repairs, snow removal, ceiling tile replacement, PA system work, replacing light bulbs, repairing and maintaining the structure/surfaces of the facility, and other miscellaneous work. Additional requirements include the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English, strong mathematical skills, and the physical ability to lift and move 50 lbs, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in different temperatures and warehouse settings. Preferred requirements include maintenance experience, HVAC experience, robotics and automation experience, material handling equipment experience, electrical and plumbing experience, high school diploma or equivalent and Technical or Trade school.
