The City of Roanoke is seeking a CCTV Crew Helper for the Stormwater division of Public Works. This role performsa variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties in the operation and maintenance of a closed-circuit television unit designed for stormwater infrastructure inspections including manhole depths, manhole conditions, flow characteristics. Gather and report work site information from inspections, casting and cover condition, and possible utility conflicts. Individual may assist with pipe cleaning and repair operations. Must operate and assist in the use of associated hand tools needed to complete assigned tasks.

Follows safety regulations related to work area and equipment use. Assist in the reading of site plans for new stormwater infrastructure. Inform contractors and/or citizens of the work being performed. Assume leadership role in absence of Crew Leader. Standby work will include working some nights, holidays and weekends as needed. The operation of medium and heavy equipment such as streetsweepers, flusher truck, sewer cleaners, skid steers, dump trucks, front-end loaders, excavators and backhoes may be required. Operates heavy and light equipment in snow removal and assists with special events, and other emergency tasks, including some nights and weekends, as needed. HS Diploma/GED and one to three years related experience in storm drain, street maintenance, driving/operating heavy construction equipment and the performance of heavy manual labor; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment. Completion of other tasks and jobs supporting the division may be assigned.QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training in the trades area assigned; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
