Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician works in the Electrical Department in a true multicraft capacity, combining strong mechanical and electrical skills to keep plant machinery and facility systems operating safely and efficiently. This role plans and performs a wide range of maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing production equipment, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery, electrical systems, and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement effective repairs or improvements.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair on motors, controls, and related electrical components.
  • Use mechanical skills to repair, adjust, and replace machine parts and assemblies as needed.
  • Support production by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
  • Follow all facility safety procedures, including OSHA and internal safety standards, while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Work in compliance with FDA and other regulatory requirements, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Document maintenance activities accurately and completely, as required by plant procedures.
  • Participate in required annual SQF and OSHA safety training and apply the training in daily work.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and support continuous improvement.
  • Work assigned 2nd or 3rd shift schedules and perform overtime, including weekend work, as needed to support production demands.

Essential Skills

  • 2–3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair on industrial equipment.
  • Ability to perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance in a multicraft role.
  • Two certificates of any type (union certificates qualify) or a technical degree in Electrical or a related technical field.
  • Comfort working long term on 2nd shift (1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) or 3rd shift (9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
  • Ability to work safely in an FDA-regulated environment and follow strict procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to work significant overtime, including weekends, as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or Machine Repair Technician.
  • Experience with both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with SQF standards and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in hot, cold, and temperature-controlled areas within a large facility.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to documentation and compliance in a regulated environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in an FDA-regulated manufacturing facility that spans a large area and includes hot, cold, and temperature-controlled zones. Team members work on 2nd shift (1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) or 3rd shift (9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.), Monday–Friday or Sunday–Thursday, with regular overtime and the expectation of working 50+ hours per week and potentially 6–7 days per week during peak periods. The environment follows strict safety and quality standards, including annual SQF and OSHA safety training and adherence to detailed hygiene and hand-washing policies. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed boots, hair nets, beard nets where applicable, ear plugs, and designated coats (white or blue), reflecting a clean, safety-focused, and highly regulated production setting.

The pay range for this position is $66456.00 - $66456.00/yr.
