Job Title: Machine Maintenance Technician III

Job Description

The Machine Maintenance Technician III performs highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, facility equipment, and physical structures in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on metal fabrication equipment and requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills, with a commitment to safety and preventive maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, facility equipment, and physical structures in accordance with established safety and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on metal fabrication equipment, including brake presses and punch presses, to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a wide range of fabrication machinery, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on brake presses, punch presses, and similar fabrication equipment used in gaming and kiosk manufacturing.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to identify problems and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Use shop math and technical documents to support accurate troubleshooting, repair, and machine setup activities.
  • Work with electrical systems associated with production equipment, including basic troubleshooting and repair while following safety standards.
  • Support the maintenance of facility equipment and infrastructure as needed to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and support continuous improvement in equipment reliability.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in accordance with company procedures.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while working near moving mechanical parts, vibration, and potential electrical hazards.
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient maintenance work area.
  • Demonstrate initiative and readiness to take on increased responsibilities, with potential to grow into broader facilities maintenance leadership in the future.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance working on metal fabrication equipment.
  • Hands-on experience working on brake presses and/or punch presses in a production environment.
  • Proven experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems and pneumatic troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform maintenance and repair on complex production machinery.
  • Ability to perform effective troubleshooting on mechanical and basic electrical issues.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply information from blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to read and write in English to interpret technical documents, work instructions, and safety information.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance concepts and practices in an industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience on fabrication equipment is preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting brake presses, punch presses, and laser machines is a plus.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics is preferred.
  • Associate or technical degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to perform shop math to support measurements, adjustments, and equipment setup.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Experience working with a variety of CNC, laser, and metal fabrication machinery is beneficial.

Work Environment

The role is based in an industrial manufacturing environment working primarily on metal fabrication machinery, including brake presses, punch presses, and Trumpf machines, as well as other equipment used for laser cutting, sheet metal fabrication, complex assembly, CNC punching, CNC machining, forming, robotic welding, stamping, fastener insertion, and tool and die manufacturing. While performing the duties of this job, you will frequently work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to vibration, and you may occasionally encounter risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually moderate and can occasionally be loud. The environment is typical of a production floor with heavy equipment and requires adherence to safety procedures and appropriate industrial work attire and personal protective equipment. A second-shift schedule is available with a 5% shift differential for that shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
