Description
The Maintenance Technician (Facilities & Operations) ensures reliable operation of manufacturing and facility systems by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. This role is hands-on, working closely with engineers, vendors, and operations to reduce downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.
POSITION DETAILS
- Shift Times: 7:00AM - 3:30PM M-F
- Pay Schedule: Weekly
- Pay Rate: $23/hr
- This is a seasonal full-time 90 day position with the potential of being brought on permanetly given performance & business needs.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Demonstrates the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks and interactions with others.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, identifying and addressing any mechanical, electrical, or operational issues to prevent breakdowns and maintain production schedules.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using various tools and techniques, and implement effective repair solutions in a timely manner.
- Prepare new machines for production and conduct safety and efficiency testing.
- Collect data on equipment performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime.
- Perform general facilities maintenance tasks, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building infrastructure, to ensure a safe and functional work environment.
- Coordinate with external vendors/contractors for specialized maintenance work.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and supplies for both production machinery and facility maintenance needs.
- Ensure strict adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO), OSHA, NFPA, and other regulatory requirements in all maintenance activities.
- Provide training and guidance to staff as needed, sharing knowledge and best practices for equipment maintenance and facility management.
- Provide after-hours technical support and coordinate emergency maintenance response when needed.
- Support Operations Team in shared goals & initiatives.

Requirements
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in industrial or facilities maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience with facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, chillers).
- Familiarity with extrusion processes and material handling preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work off-hours and respond to emergency calls.
- Technical certification or vocational training preferred
