The Flathead Lake Biological Station invites applications from campus employees for a Maintenance Tech III opening in their department. This position will work with and under the supervision of the FLSS Facilities Manager to maintain, repair, improve, and secure the Bio Station's physical plant and infrastructure.
  • Snow removal

  • Lead on some maintenance projects

  • Regular operation of heavy equipment (ie, snow plow, dump truck, tractor, backhoe, forklift) Conduct vehicle repairs and maintenance

  • Coordinate with Facilities Manager to ensure safety of FLSS Campus, especially during non-business hours

  • Coordinate with Facilities Manager as team member on call to ensure the FLSS Wastewater Treatment Plant is functioning properly

  • Conduct minor repairs of FLSS infrastructure (ie, windows, trim, sheetrock, painting, siding) Assist with maintenance and landscaping of FLSS grounds

  • Assist residents and visitors with building access, especially during non-business hours Maintain, repair, and reprogram locks and key-codes

  • Haul recycling to the transfer station

  • Some weekend work may be necessary due to the Waste Water Treatment Plant needing repairs or maintenance

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Extensive experience with hand and power tools

  • Extensive experience with snow removal, including driving snow plows

  • Extensive experience with construction trades (ie, carpentry, electrical, plumbing)

  • Extensive experience operating and repairing vehicles and heavy equipment

  • Experience maintaining and repairing wastewater treatment systems

Compensation Title: Maintenance Tech III

Work Schedule:Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday, some weekend work may be necessary

Probationary Period:Six (6) months minimum
