Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a millwright team with a focus onexecution excellence, workforce development, and consistent performance. Establishes clear standards for how work is executed, builds team capability, and drives accountability across all shifts to support a high-performing, state-of-the-art sawmill.

Responsibilities

Execution Leadership

  • Set and enforce clear expectations for work planning, execution, and completion
  • Drive daily direction setting and follow-up to ensure consistent results
  • Ensure all work is completed with quality, discipline, and full accountability
  • Eliminate variability in performance across crews and shifts

Workforce Development

  • Lead theskills progression systemfor millwrights
  • Provide hands-on coaching and real-time feedback in the field
  • Assess capability and drive continuous skill advancement
  • Develop leads and future leaders within the team

Daily Management & Accountability

  • Establish a disciplined daily execution rhythm:
    • Clear shift priorities
    • End-of-shift results review
  • Hold team accountable for performance, behaviors, and outcomes
  • Address performance gaps directly and consistently

Preventative Maintenance Execution

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality execution of the PM program
  • Drive strong compliance with a focus on quality and consistency
  • Reinforce attention to detail and completion standards

Team Culture

  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and pride in work
  • Recognize strong performance and reinforce expectations
  • Create clear differentiation between high and low performers

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • 2–5+ years leadership experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive consistent execution
  • Experience developing workforce capability and improving performance
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience preferred
