Vonachen Group is looking to hire a Maintenance Specialist in Edwards, IL
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the grounds, exterior areas, and equipment of the property to ensure a clean, safe, and well-kept environment for employees, visitors, and customers. This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining lawn care and snow removal equipment, completing basic facility repairs, and supporting day-to-day maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and has a working knowledge of power tools, landscaping equipment, and seasonal property upkeep.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform grounds maintenance duties, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and seasonal landscaping.
- Operate and maintain lawn care and snow removal equipment, including mowers, blowers, trimmers, and snow blowers/plows.
- Conduct minor facility repairs including light carpentry, painting, and general upkeep of buildings and outdoor areas.
- Maintain and organize supply inventory, including replenishing stock and reporting low levels.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment, following company safety protocols and reporting hazards.
- Support coordination between the maintenance team, company leadership, and customer contacts.
- Assist with basic warehouse duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Skills & Abilities:
- Must be 18 years or older with reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable using power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Positive attitude with strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver's License and able to pass MVR
- Experience with groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance preferred
- Familiarity with snow removal equipment is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
