About the Company
Established in 2013, SUL4R-PLUS (S4+) is one of the leading fertilizer manufacturers serving the agriculture industry with a proven, patented Calcium Sulfate nutrient. S4+ recently completed construction on their newest manufacturing plant in Marissa, Illinois. Their original manufacturing plant is located in southern Louisville, and combined with the new Marissa location, S4+ will become one of the largest suppliers of secondary nutrients in North America.
About the Role
This role combines hands-on purchasing and supplier coordination with maintenance planning and scheduling to keep production running smoothly. This position ensures raw materials, equipment parts, and services are procured timely while also supporting preventive maintenance planning and equipment uptime.
Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, spare parts, and services for manufacturing site.
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships for production and maintenance needs.
- Create, process, and track purchase orders through delivery and invoicing.
- Maintain accurate pricing, lead times, and supplier records in the ERP or purchasing system.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to prevent shortages.
- Support implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure consistent maintenance and procurement standards between sites.
- Track purchasing spend, supplier performance, and maintenance KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve uptime, and streamline processes.
- Assist in the development and archive detailed work instructions in the CMMS systems.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, maintenance planning, or a related manufacturing role.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities across locations.
- Proficiency with ERP or MRP systems, CMMS tools, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Strong communication and vendor management skills.
- Practical understanding of maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Certification preferred in Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or Certified Scheduler/Planner (CSP) or Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Certification (PSC).
