Job Description

The Maintenance Manager leads all maintenance operations for a large food manufacturing plant, directing a team of approximately 24 employees to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, facilities, and utility systems. This role oversees repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery and infrastructure, develops and improves preventive maintenance systems, and drives asset reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. The position is based in Anacortes, WA, with occasional travel to other plants as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders to determine maintenance priorities and allocate resources effectively.
  • Lead and manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) Pillar activities for the plant to improve equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with PM Pillar leaders and plant leadership to establish the vision and execution plan for asset reliability management.
  • Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes by staying current on new technologies and applications.
  • Maintain, update, and create preventive maintenance processes within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Lead capital expense prioritization and oversee project development and project management for maintenance-related investments.
  • Schedule and coordinate repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to support continuous production operations.
  • Coordinate activities of workers who fabricate or modify machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
  • Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to ensure continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, refrigeration, and air required for operations.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of five years of food manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in the seafood industry.
  • At least two years of experience supervising others in a maintenance or related environment.
  • At least two years of experience working in a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM/TPS) environment.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively within time constraints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in electrical or mechanical engineering, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior Continuous Improvement (CI) experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the seafood industry or industrial food processing operations.
  • Experience with batter and breading production processes.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Work Environment

This role is based in a food manufacturing plant environment in Anacortes, WA and involves regular time spent on the production floor and in facility areas. The position requires frequent standing and walking, as well as the use of hands to handle or feel objects and to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently needs to climb or balance and may occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate clearly with others. The role involves regularly moving objects up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Work includes interaction with production machinery, tools, equipment, and utility systems such as heat, steam, electric power, gas, refrigeration, and air. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to safety and environmental procedures, participation in Hazmat activities, and compliance with established operational and safety standards.

This is a Permanent position based out of Anacortes, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
