Primary Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to shape metal or plastic parts.
Perform machining parameters adjustments as modification of feed rates, speeds to optimize surface finish and extend tooling life.
Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, straight edges, feller gages, and scales.
Read blueprints and drawings, create sketches of parts.
Following engineering plans, drawings, and instructions.
Maintain machine shop equipment.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
Ensure the machines are in proper working condition and address any issues that may arise during the machining process.
Perform machining repairs to damaged parts or duplicate using manually controlled machine shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, cutters and hand tools.
Perform preventative maintenance (PM), inspections, and breakdown repairs with mechanics on production equipment.
Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical drive systems such as belts, pulleys, motors, chains, sprockets with minimal assistance.
Identify and look up parts in EAM maintenance CMMS program.
Learn to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments regarding work accomplishments and findings.
Participate in morning meetings, perform safety system requirements, log work hours and comments on work orders in EAM maintenance software.
