TheMaintenance Assistant IIperforms semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of County buildings and facilities. This position involves the maintenance and painting of interior and exterior walls, shelves, bookcases and cabinets as well as assisting the carpenter, HVAC technician, plumber, painter and electrician with duties of maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities to include building trades work.Graduation from high school and two years of experience in the construction or building maintenance trades preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including mechanics tools, carpenters tools, electrical tools, plumbing tools, etc. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to exert up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to climb, reach, crawl, bend, stoop, etc. in the performance of job duties.
