Summary

The Maintenance 1 performs various types of general maintenance duties, including plumbing and piping, assisting with relocation of mechanical equipment, some minor maintenance of electrical equipment, minor building additions and alterations, welding, carpentry and painting, follows lockout procedures, and performs all janitorial duties

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Performs general maintenance operations, such as plumbing, welding, leveling of machinery, minor fabrication, carpentry and painting and other operations
  • Assist with setting up and placement of new machinery, such as saws, drill presses, CNC machines and welders, etc.
  • Troubleshoots (assembles, disassembles, repairs and installs) minor mechanical equipment and tools, and some electrical equipment
  • Performs all janitorial duties including cleaning restrooms, breakrooms, cleaning and buffing floors, taking trash out, mowing and weed eating the yard
  • Follows lockout procedures for equipment being serviced
  • Ensures all safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency test/GED
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to multitask efficiently within a rapidly changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years in manufacturing environment
  • Experience in electrical maintenance
  • Ability to read Eng drawings/schematic diagrams

  • This position is in a production environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving machinery and trip hazards where personal protective equipment such as head, eye, hearing, and foot protection, including composite toed safety boots are required.
  • This position may be exposed to welding, machining, forming, metal surface treatment, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other metal working and assembly processes.
  • Additional PPE may be required as determined by the environment.
