Overview

MACNY, The Manufacturers Association is seeking a talentedMarketing & Communications Specialist to support a broad range of initiatives.This position supports MACNY’s Talent Development team by leading marketing and communications efforts that increase awareness, engagement, and participation across its career exploration, pre-apprenticeship, and Registered Apprenticeship programs. This position advances MACNY’s mission of connecting individuals with manufacturing career pathways while helping employers build a skilled and sustainable workforce through its talent development initiatives. Collaboration with internal teams and external program partners is essential to both achieving these goals and succeeding in this position.

Works collaboratively with colleagues on:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing and communications initiatives in support of MACNY’s Talent Development programs, including career exploration, pre-apprenticeship, and Registered Apprenticeship pathways.
  • Develop a wide range of marketing and communications materials, including slide decks, social media graphics, print collateral, branded assets, and other program content.
  • Write, edit, and proofread communications such as email campaigns, newsletters, web content, and print materials.
  • Develop, schedule, and publish engaging organic social media content across Talent Development program channels.
  • Create, execute, and optimize social media and digital marketing campaigns aligned with program goals, including paid advertising initiatives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on performance across digital channels (social media, email, and web), providing insights to improve engagement and effectiveness.
  • Support website content development and ongoing site management.
  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of key Talent Development events, including Manufacturing Month, National Apprenticeship Week, and the Talent Development Awards.
  • Provide on-site support for photo and video shoots to support marketing and storytelling efforts.
  • Coordinate and order program swag/merchandise as needed.
  • Collaborate with the MACNY Marketing & Communications team on organization-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Support additional marketing and communications projects assigned.

USD $63,000.00/Yr.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years previous marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field is preferred
  • Experience with content management, copy editing and proofreading, event coordination, digital marketing, social media management, and other key marketing skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform as part of a small team with evolving directives.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
  • Proficient with digital content platforms such as content management systems, web-hosting platforms, social media for business, e-mail marketing, etc.
  • Experience with CRM management is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new programs and skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for frequent community outreach and engagements within New York State.
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check will be required.
