The Machining Engineer will split their time between the shop floor, CNC programming, and office-based project work, initially focusing on small to medium projects and plant support. Over time, this role will evolve into leading larger projects and driving new machining processes. The position requires a hands-on engineer who can work closely with production, quality, and other engineering teams to optimize CNC machining operations, introduce new equipment, and continuously improve manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
This is a full-time, on-site role with typical hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There may be an occasional Saturday workday once per quarter, scheduled in advance. The facility employs approximately 100 people and includes manufacturing and machining areas where you will spend a significant portion of your time. The role involves regular interaction with quality, production, and other engineering departments in a collaborative, team-based environment. The shop is a unionized manufacturing facility, though this position focuses primarily on engineering and floor support activities. The machining and manufacturing areas may involve exposure to oil, coolant, and metal residue, and appropriate safety practices and attire are required when working around machinery.
