Job Description – Maintenance Mechanic (Direct Hire)

Location: Geneva, NY 14456)

Job Type: Direct Hire | W-2

Shift: 12-Hour Continental Shift (Day Shift – 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM)

Duration: Long-term (Start: March 30, 2026 – September 30, 2027)


Position Summary

Our Client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support Aerosol and Hair Care packaging production lines. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum production efficiency, safety, and product quality.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain packaging and support equipment to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Perform equipment changeovers, setups, installations, and adjustments based on production requirements.
  • Execute preventative maintenance activities and resolve mechanical/electrical issues identified during inspections.
  • Troubleshoot machine downtime using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support processing, packaging, and auxiliary equipment maintenance using CMMS and MES data.
  • Assist engineering teams with equipment installations and modifications.
  • Rebuild, alter, and repair production equipment as required.
  • Fabricate and repair mechanical parts when necessary.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel on equipment and process issues.
  • Train team members on basic maintenance procedures and equipment adjustments.
  • Operate forklifts to move equipment and materials when needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and OSHA standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of maintenance mechanic experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or Engineering Science.
  • Completion of mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or military technical training.
  • Experience with packaging or production line equipment.
