About the role
The Loss Prevention Systems and Data Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Loss Prevention (LP) organization through data, systems, and analytics. This position owns the development, maintenance, and performance of LP reporting systems, dashboards, and case management tools.
Serving as the primary analytical subject matter expert for Loss Prevention, this role transforms complex data into actionable insights that support strategy, enable field execution, and drive measurable reductions in inventory shrink and operational losses across the business.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of Loss Prevention systems, including dashboards, reporting suites, analytical models, alerts, workflows, automations and exception‑based reporting tools.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, user maintenance, and overall system performance across all LP‑owned platforms (e.g., Exception‑Based Reporting, Case Management systems, CCTV integrations).
Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and cross‑functional partners to implement new data sources, system enhancements, and expanded capabilities.
Translate complex data and trends into clear, actionable insights for Loss Prevention leadership and other business partners.
Lead departmental and cross‑functional projects using advanced analytical techniques to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
Partner closely with the Loss Prevention field team to refine analytics based on investigative outcomes and emerging shrink or fraud trends.
Lead training and onboarding for new system users, collaborating with vendors as needed to ensure ongoing education and adoption.
Travel to store events (physical inventory, training) and industry conferences as needed (~5%).
Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
3–5 years of experience in retail loss prevention analytics, shrink analysis, inventory accuracy, or other data‑driven retail or operations roles.

Working conditions & physical requirements
This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and occasionally requires carrying, moving and setting up of computers, for example desktops, monitors, printers, and other small hardware in the testing lab.
