This role leads field crews in the installation, testing, and maintenance of low voltage fire alarm and life safety systems, ensuring all projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. You will combine advanced technical expertise with hands-on leadership, mentoring technicians and apprentices while serving as the primary field contact for project stakeholders. The position is ideal for a self-motivated, solution-oriented leader who takes ownership of both the quality of the install and the development of the team.
Responsibilities
You will join a specialized low voltage and life safety organization that values integrity, strong work ethic, and professional growth. The company offers 100% company-paid employee-only health insurance premiums and recognizes the importance of work-life balance with flexible availability when project needs arise. You will work in an environment that encourages ongoing training, supports professional certifications, and appreciates those who take pride in their craft and in developing others. The culture emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and clear communication, giving you the opportunity to lead meaningful projects and build a strong, respected field crew.
Work Environment
You will work primarily in the field on education, construction, government, commercial-industrial, and multifamily project sites, focusing on low voltage life safety and communication systems. The environment is hands-on and fast-paced, involving installation, testing, and service of fire alarm panels, smoke detectors, pull stations, emergency communication systems, security cameras, and related low voltage infrastructure. Daily work includes handling electrical and low voltage wiring, pulling data cable, installing and bending conduit, and working with Cat5e, Cat6, and fire-rated cabling. You will frequently work on active construction sites, use ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts, and operate a variety of hand and power tools while adhering to OSHA, NFPA 72, NEC, and other safety standards. The schedule is typically full-time with the need for flexibility to support occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call assignments based on project and service demands.
