Job Description
The Technician I role offers an opportunity to develop and apply foundational skills in structured cabling as a contributing member of a technical team. In this position, you install, route, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling and devices while learning to read prints, complete documentation, and follow industry standards and safety practices. This is an excellent entry-level role for someone with up to one year of experience in electrical or structured cabling who is eager to build a long-term career in the field.

Work Environment
You work primarily on active construction and technical project sites, starting on a project in Ashburn, VA and transitioning to a project in Manassas, VA after approximately four weeks. The environment involves installing and supporting structured cabling infrastructure, including copper (Cat 5, Cat 6) and fiber optic systems, within buildings and telecommunications spaces. You regularly handle tools, ladders, and cabling support hardware, and you follow site safety practices and OSHA 10 guidelines where applicable. The role requires working in and around telecommunications closets, ceiling spaces, walls, and modular furniture systems in a field-based setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chantilly, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
