Position Summary

 

The Logistics Manager oversees all logistics operations and inventory management to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound freight, managing relationships with breweries, tanker companies, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and aligning inventory levels with sales forecasts. The Manager will lead cross-functional collaboration with sales, finance, and operations teams to support business objectives and optimize supply chain performance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·        Strategic Logistics Management: Develop and execute logistics strategies for inbound and outbound freight. Negotiate contracts and rates with 3PLs and transportation partners to optimize cost and service

·        Inventory Planning & Control: Oversee inventory levels for 3PL locations and implement processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with sales and finance teams to forecast demand and align inventory planning with business goals

·        Vendor & Partner Leadership: Build and maintain strong relationships with breweries, tanker companies, and logistics partners. Ensure compliance with service agreements and performance standards

·        Operational Excellence: Implement best practices for freight scheduling, tracking, and documentation. Monitor KPIs related to logistics costs, delivery performance, and inventory accuracy

·        Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provide guidance and support to logistics coordinators or analysts (if applicable). Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives

·        Responsible for being aware of and following all food safety protocols as required by Rishi Tea's food safety management system, as they relate to this position

Develop calculation to determine freight cost per unit

Develop scorecard for 3PL’s and Co-Packers

Develop plans to achieve 95% score with 3 PL’s and Co-Packers

This position can interact and interface directly with all departments within the company, including Admin, Marketing, Sales, Production, Warehouse, Inventory, Procurement, R&D.


Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education and/or Experience                                       

 

Required:

·        Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field

·        5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation management

·        Proven experience negotiating with carriers and managing 3PL relationships

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite

·        Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred:

·        Experience in the food and beverage industry or similar sectors

·        Knowledge of freight optimization and cost-reduction strategies

·        Familiarity with inventory forecasting and demand planning tools
