What Do We Do Here?

Our Conroe Facility produces downhole products for drilling activities in North America.  Our plant has high demand and is operating 24/7 to produce these products for our customers.  To meet the demand for our products, we provide employees with an air-conditioned environment, highly organized and clean 300,000 SQ. ft. fabrication facility, new CNC Machines (Mazak, Mori Sieke, DMG Mori, Weiler, etc.), and a strong safety program designed to ensure our team goes home safe to their families after every shift.

What’s the Job Like?

The Logistics Coordinator position handles shipments of drill bits and other various items to and from our facility and all over the world. The position works closely with all relevant departments addressing all means of transportation for both inbound and outbound shipments on behalf of the company and its customers.  At the direction of leadership and in conjunction with colleagues, assist with the analysis, coordination, maintenance, and improvement of all facility ongoing logistical functions.  Logistics Coordinators work in multiple departments in Operations, supporting the daily coordination needs of the individual department or functional area. This position is part of the Inventory and Logistics team that works together very closely to get the job done. The Logistics Coordinator candidate will need to always have a Safety First approach to every task and wants to be part of the Safety Culture here at NOV.

JOB DUTIES:

  1. Initiate shipping process upon receiving pick list from warehouse. 
  2. Read Customer Purchase Order/email trail of customer orders and identify stated incoterms to proceed with shipping process.
  3. Prepare commercial Invoice and packing list for Equipment shipping out both domestic/international.
  4. Liaise with Customer/Intercompany/assigned freight forwarder on the shipping movement and shipping documentation requirements.
  5. Know the parties involved in shipping transactions including the freight forwarder.
  6. Ensure required checks and balances are carried out to comply with stated Export Compliance requirements.
  7. Follow outlined Logistics process map to incorporate step by step Logistics approach to shipping process.
  8. Work with the company’s designated freight forwarders to improve performance and ensure on time shipment.
  9. Organize and maintain hard copy and electronic documentation supporting shipping of orders handled by self in OnBase.
  10. Ensure safety requirements and measures are followed into all Logistics activities.     
  11. Load customer orders equipment/spares into trucks.
  12. Update Warehouse Manager and/or Planning Manager with any logistics issues.
  13. Work closely with the following groups - Customer Order processing Groups/Production Group/Warehousing Group/Import and Export Compliance Group.
  14. Assume control of Dispatching trucking, Internal or third party for outgoing sales orders and incoming Purchase orders. 
  15. Assume control of Imports of product, coordinate with Freight forwarders to ensure a timely/ best method and most efficient delivery.
  16. Fulfill any other tasks as and when assigned by the Supervisor. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 3-5 years preferred international logistics experience 
  2. Forklift experience
  3. Microsoft Office Knowledge
