POSITION: LNG Operator
LOCATION: Ludlow DEPARTMENT: LNG Operations
PAY RATE: $49.88 per hour
DEFINITION:
During assigned shifts, assume responsibility for the operation of the LNG facility to properly liquefy, store, vaporize, transport, receive and send out LNG.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate LNG facility including start-up of vaporizers, shutdowns and adjustments of all equipment required for safe, efficient operation. Perform scheduled lubrication and general maintenance including painting, snow removal and other similar related duties as assigned. Perform routine mechanical maintenance on plant equipment. Assist the plant supervisor to ensure maintenance done at the plant is completed on time in an efficient manner. Maintain accurate records on all plant operations. Follow specific procedure to call in and direct activities of support personnel whenever conditions require special services. Assume responsibility for implementing proper emergency procedures during plant shutdowns. Following established procedure, serve as central coordinator for the Gas Operations Department on-call coverage.
EDUCATION:
High School or equivalent with supplemental technical or basic engineering training.
Technical school training a plus.
Must have knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Pass a D.O.T. Drug Screen and relevant physical examination.
Ability to pass job relevant test battery.
Demonstrate ability to work at heights.
Successfully complete the Institute of Gas Technology Training Program and be certified as a plant operator within three (3) months in addition to completing other D.O.T. training requirements.
SCHEDULE:
This position includes rotating shifts, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays and is subject to change as workload dictates. Must be able to work overtime as required.
Residency requirement: must reside 30 minutes from the Springfield service territory per Labor Agreement
