People based in Orange County and even parts of Los Angeles County who can drive to Irvine for trial prep/trial attendance will be considered. Onsite is not required with regularity; this is a remote position listed as "hybrid" to ensure we only have local candidates apply.


Robert Half is working with a boutique firm that specializes in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. The firm has two offices statewide, but people are not siloed because remote work allows people to work together. Robert Half has made several successful placements with this firm; they treat people well!


Responsibilities of Paralegal

  • Support attorneys throughout all phases of insurance coverage litigation: case research, pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, and document management
  • Helping with drafting motions, specifically helping prepare/attach exhibits, shepardizing, and fact-checking.
  • Privilege reviews & prepare privilege logs
  • Put together records for appellate briefings
  • Helping with trial prep and attending trial. Previous trial attendance is a plus.
  • Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and litigation calendars.
  • Draft and review correspondence, pleadings, and motions.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings.
  • Sometimes there are non-billable tasks to paralegals, but they try to make sure their paralegals are getting
  • Billable Hour Req: 750 annually


Requirements

  • 3+ years of strong civil litigation experience, ideally in insurance coverage or bad faith litigation but will consider strong legal experience.
  • Must have experience with privilege logs, preparing law and motion (including Shepardizing), and trial preparation. Trial attendance a strong plus!
