Direct Counsel is partnering with a premier California law firm to hire an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a nationally recognized Trial & Litigation Group handling complex, precedent-setting matters.
This team manages sophisticated, high-profile litigation across:
- Constitutional law
- Wildfire litigation
- Civil rights & land use claims
- First Amendment matters
- Takings litigation
- Class actions
- Eminent Domain
- Crisis-driven litigation

What You’ll Do
- Manage cases from pleadings through trial and appeal
- Draft and revise pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Oversee document production and eDiscovery workflows
- Support deposition, hearing, and trial preparation (exhibits, witness outlines)
- Cite-check briefs (legal + factual citations)
- Coordinate with Litigation Support on database management (iPro or similar)
- Maintain discovery logs and case indices
This role requires strong ownership, precision, and the ability to operate independently in a high-performing litigation team.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of recent California litigation experience
- Ability to bill under Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 6450
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Data Tables)
- Strong eDiscovery and document production expertise
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Westlaw (preferred) or Lexis experience
- Deep knowledge of state and federal court procedures
- High ethical standards and strict confidentiality
This is an on-site role with a remote component. Extended hours and travel may be required depending on trial demands.
