Litigation Paralegal

A litigation firm in Chicago is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their team. This is a hybrid position offering a salary range of $65,000–$80,000 depending on experience. This role will support attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation process and play a key part in case preparation, organization, and execution. Responsibilities of the Litigation Paralegal:

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case inception through trial and post-trial support
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurate, up to date, and easily accessible
  • Coordinate and manage the discovery process, including document collection, review, and production
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys
  • Prepare trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel regarding case updates and scheduling
  • Maintain and track case deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements to ensure compliance


Qualifications for the Litigation Paralegal:

  • 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; alternatively, an Associate’s degree combined with a paralegal certification will be considered.
  • Experience with intellectual property (IP) matters is preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and filing processes
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
