Litigation Assistant

Hybrid

Sometimes, the job you want… actually wants something back.

Not just hours. Not just filings. Not just “support.”

Impact.

Our client is not your typical labor & employment litigation firm. This is a place where attorneys don’t just argue cases—they advocate, organize, and show up. The firm represents unions, is unionized, and attracts people who care about the bigger picture.

Translation: the work matters, the people are sharp, and the culture isn’t lip service.

And now, they’re looking for a Litigation Assistant / Case Manager who can run the engine behind the scenes—and occasionally keep a few attorneys on track (with charm, of course).

What You’ll Actually Do as a Litigation Legal Assistant (a lot, and it matters)

This is not a “sit back and take notes” role. This is case command central.

  • Own case management from soup to verdict—multiple complex matters, multiple moving parts
  • Build Excel spreadsheets that actually do things—pivot tables, formulas, data analysis
  • Calendar like a pro—deadlines, filings, moving pieces
  • Handle e-filings across state, federal, and agencies like NLRB, PERB, EDD, and more
  • Research court rules and filing requirements (because details win cases)
  • Prep pleadings, motions, exhibits, binders—trial-ready, always
  • Manage trial dockets and court correspondence
  • Use Westlaw, Lexis, BNA, and tools like Litera for redlining
  • Handle Bates stamping and maintain detailed Excel reports

In short: if it touches the case, it touches you.

What Makes You a Fit as a Litigation Legal Assistant

  • Experienced Litigation Assistant who thrives in organized chaos
  • Strong Excel skills (not “I opened it once”—real skills)
  • Comfortable juggling multiple deadlines without dropping the ball—or your sense of humor
  • Spanish speaking? That’s a serious plus

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Mission-driven work—representing unions and workers
  • Progressive, activist-minded attorneys who actually walk the walk
  • Low turnover (people stay—and that says everything)
  • A genuinely supportive, respectful culture
  • Growth opportunities—not just a job, a path
  • And let’s talk benefits:

Up to 12% of salary in benefits. Yes, really.

The Bottom Line

This is for someone who wants to be trusted, relied on, and maybe just a little indispensable.

If that sounds like your kind of role, this might be worth a conversation.
