Our boutique law firm is seeking an accomplished Associate Attorney to join our expanding Professional Liability Practice Group. II. Position Overview

The Associate Attorney will play an integral role in supporting our healthcare‑focused practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks governing healthcare and mental health professionals, along with demonstrated experience providing strategic counsel and robust defense in civil litigation, licensing board matters, and regulatory proceedings.

This position is well suited for an attorney who values autonomy, intellectual rigor, and long‑term professional growth within a specialized practice.


III. Primary Responsibilities

  • Represent healthcare and mental health professionals in civil litigation, administrative hearings, and regulatory actions
  • Manage and analyze matters involving licensing boards and professional discipline
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and factual analysis
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive legal documents
  • Appear at hearings, mediations, and depositions as appropriate
  • Advise clients on risk management, compliance obligations, and proactive legal strategies
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex matters


IV. Preferred Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in professional liability, healthcare law, civil defense, or administrative law
  • Experience representing licensed professionals before regulatory agencies or licensing boards strongly preferred
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating effectively within a team

Salary: $145,000.00 - $160,000.00
