Business Litigation Associate


Location: Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: $150,000 – $220,000 base salary (DOE) and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.)

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire, Hybrid


LHH is working with a well-established civil litigation defense firm located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles in seeking seeking a Business Litigation Associate. This role is ideal for a strong litigator who can independently manage cases, maintain direct client contact, and take ownership of files from inception through resolution. The practice is focused primarily on business and commercial disputes. Trial experience is not required.


Responsibilities

  • Independently manage business and commercial litigation matters from pleadings through resolution
  • Serve as day-to-day point of contact for clients and oversee overall case strategy and progression
  • Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and discovery-related motions
  • Handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, meet-and-confer efforts, and motion practice
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Manage case deadlines, strategy, and workflow with minimal supervision
  • Appear in court for hearings, conferences, mediations, and related proceedings as needed


Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active California Bar license in good standing
  • Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience, ideally with a focus on business or commercial disputes
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to run a case independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Experience handling depositions, discovery disputes, and client communications
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced litigation environment
