Job Opportunity for Litigation Attorney with Established, Mid-Size Plaintiff’s Law Firm in LA

  • Depending on experience level OR the complexity of the case, the supervising atty will be more hands on OR hands off


About the position:

  • Caseload- active filed cases ~15 (in addition, may have some settled cases that they are working on i.e class action approval process.) There is a dedicated pre-litigation, so attorneys don’t have to do as much leg work here
  • Develop strategy and actively manage a caseload
  • Collaborate with co-counsel and opposing counsel
  • Independently draft complaints, discovery, and motions
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses
  • Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions
  • Independently attend court hearings
  • Draft and argue motions, including motions for class certification
  • Work with expert witnesses, particularly in financial and statistical fields
  • Work on and assist in trial preparations
  • Manage settlement negotiations and participate in mediation
  • Take cases to trial and arbitration, if necessary


Ideal candidate profile:

  • Experience taking & defending depos independently
  • 3+ years of recent plaintiff-side California employment litigation (individual FEHA and wage & hour class/PAGA action) experience
  • Law and motion knowledge, including experience arguing motions;
  • Working knowledge of motions for class certification and approval motions;
  • Experienced in taking and defending depositions; and,
  • Focus and passion for plaintiff-side representation
  • Graduated from top 100 law school

Compensation: $145k-165k+ base salary (will go higher for candidates with 4+ yrs exp)
