Litigation Attorney – Financial Services

Location: Dallas, TX

Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 + bonus + benefits

Experience Level: 2–5 years


A leading national law firm is seeking a talented Litigation Attorney to join one of the fastest-growing Financial Services Litigation practice groups. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic, high-performing team representing major financial institutions in complex, high-impact matters nationwide.


About the Role


This position focuses heavily on federal court litigation, with a strong emphasis on legal research, brief writing, and motions practice rather than trial work. You will play a key role in developing case strategy, drafting dispositive motions, and advising clients on regulatory and compliance risks.



Key Responsibilities


  • Represent financial institutions, mortgage lenders, loan servicers, and credit-related entities in federal and state court litigation
  • Draft substantive motions, briefs, and legal memoranda
  • Conduct in-depth legal research on complex regulatory and litigation issues
  • Support case strategy and manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Assist clients in responding to regulatory inquiries and investigations
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and mitigate compliance and operational risks


Practice Focus

The team handles sophisticated litigation and regulatory matters involving federal and state consumer finance laws, including:


  • Truth in Lending Act (TILA)
  • Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
  • Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA)
  • Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
  • State consumer protection and fair lending laws


Attorneys in this group also work closely with clients on regulatory compliance, enforcement actions, and government inquiries, including matters involving state and federal agencies and congressional investigations.


Qualifications


  • 2–5 years of litigation experience (financial services or complex commercial litigation preferred)
  • Strong legal research and writing skills are essential
  • Experience drafting motions and managing federal court cases
  • Federal clerkship experience is a plus
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Admission to the Texas Bar (or ability to waive in)
