Cedar Park Med is hiring experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for Adult Psychiatry and the Psych Float Pool for a 13-week assignment with possible extension.
This role is ideal for LPNs with psychiatric experience who are comfortable working in behavioral health settings and supporting patients with a range of mental health needs.
Schedule/Shift info:
- Day shift 7am-7.30pm
- Night shift 7pm - 7.30am
- 13-week assignment (possible extension)
- Every other weekend and some holidays required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an adult psychiatry setting with minimal orientation and supervision
- Monitor patients, observe behavior and condition changes, and report updates to the care team
- Take and record vital signs, patient progress, and other clinical information
- Assist with medication administration, injections, and routine procedures as directed
- Support physicians and nurses with patient care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
- Help maintain safe, organized clinical areas and support daily unit workflow
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State LPN license
- Current CPR certification or ability to certify/re-certify
- Minimum 1 year of LPN experience
- Psychiatric experience required
