Licensed Fitness/Yoga Instructor - (On call)

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is in the famed Deer Valley ski resort and approximately 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport. The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is part of a new development, planned to incorporate 17 ski lifts, ±1,600 residential units, 8 hotels with a total of ±1,350 rooms, ±250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the largest “ski beaches” in the world.

The Grand Hyatt is comprised of 436 luxury accommodations including 381 guest rooms and 55 residential units with approximately 30,000 square feet of versatile indoor meeting space, lobby level 3-meal restaurant and bar, signature bar, pool/après ski bar and grill, coffee bistro, large outdoor event terrace, pool and 3 whirlpools, kids club, and fitness area.

The Yoga Instructor is responsible for planning and teaching effective and enjoyable fitness classes. The Yoga Instructor must be knowledgeable of all fitness offerings, hold current certifications and have previous experience. The Yoga Instructor must possess excellent customer service skills in order to provide the highest quality environment and instruction that will meet the needs of our guests in the area of health and exercise.

Job Duties:

• Plans and develops effective fitness classes

• Greets and welcomes guests upon arrival

• Evaluates guests for any health issues and refers them to physician if necessary
• Demonstrates how to perform the various exercises
• Maintains a safe and healthy exercise environment
• Educates guests on proper techniques to avoid injury
• Assists guests who need additional assistance during the class
• Provides a welcoming, inclusive environment for all guests
• Suggests alternative exercises/routines for those who need it
• Motivates and inspires guests to achieve their fitness goals
• Teaches classes with energy and enthusiasm
• Teaches proper breathing techniques
• Properly sets-up teaching area, with required equipment, prior to classes
• Ensures teaching area is cleaned and organized after each class
• Assists with maintaining fitness equipment
• Assists with the promotion of fitness services at member/guest orientations
• Maintains a strong knowledge of fitness trends
• Provides general resort information for guests
• Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
• Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
• Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
• Communicates all pertinent information to the Sand and Sea Salon and Spa team
• Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty Manager/supervisor.
