Job Title: Level II NDT Inspector

Job Description

The Level II NDT Inspector performs non-destructive testing (NDT) on parts and assemblies using both automated and manual methods, with a primary focus on radiography and ultrasound. This role ensures product quality and integrity by identifying defects and discontinuities, interpreting results accurately, and documenting findings in accordance with established procedures. The position operates on a first-shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and works closely with a small, collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing on parts and assemblies using radiographic and ultrasonic methods to detect defects and discontinuities.
  • Operate both automated and manual NDT equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
  • Inspect components for quality and conformance to specifications, documenting results clearly and accurately.
  • Interpret radiographic and ultrasonic indications and determine acceptability based on applicable standards and criteria.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand inspection requirements and critical areas.
  • Follow precise written and verbal instructions to complete inspections consistently and correctly.
  • Maintain current Level II certification in Radiology NDT methods and apply that knowledge in daily work.
  • Collaborate with team members, quality personnel, and production staff to resolve inspection issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Handle parts and equipment carefully, using excellent hand–eye coordination to position components and operate testing tools.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and procedural guidelines while working in the inspection area.

Essential Skills

  • Current certification as a Level II Radiology NDT Inspector or the qualifications required to be certified at Level II in Radiology NDT methods.
  • Demonstrated experience performing non-destructive testing using radiography and ultrasound.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and understand English to follow procedures and document inspection results.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proven ability to follow precise instructions and standardized work procedures.
  • Excellent hand–eye coordination for operating inspection equipment and handling parts.
  • Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in NDT Level II, NDT inspection, non-destructive testing, quality inspection, general labor, and X-ray inspection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with automated NDT systems in addition to manual inspection methods.
  • Experience in quality-focused manufacturing or production environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in interpreting inspection results and documenting findings.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving processes and support continuous improvement in inspection methods.

Work Environment

This role is based in a small team environment within a quality-focused inspection area. The position operates on a first shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work with radiographic and ultrasonic NDT equipment, including both automated and manual systems, and handle parts and assemblies that require careful, precise inspection. The setting emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and close collaboration with team members to complete inspections efficiently and accurately.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aliso Viejo, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $65.00/hr.
