Position Overview
The Level 3 Security & VoIP Technician is a senior field role responsible for leading installations, executing complex system deployments, ensuring all work meets company standards, and performing service work as required.
This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong troubleshooting ability, and leadership in the field. You will take ownership of jobsite execution while mentoring junior technicians and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and correctly.
Roles and Responsibilities
Advanced Installation & Integration
- Lead installation of:
- Access control systems (Brivo / Mercury-based)
- Video surveillance systems
- Alarm systems
- VoIP systems and network infrastructure
- Install and configure:
- Electric strikes, maglocks, and electrified hardware
- Power supplies and fire alarm interfaces
- Control panels and head-end systems
System Setup & Commissioning
- Terminate and configure all field devices including:
- Readers, REX, DPS, locks, and alarm devices
- Program and validate systems:
- Alarm zones, users, communications
- Perform full system testing and turnover
Standards & Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets company installation standards
- Enforce:
- Clean cable management and routing
- Proper labeling and documentation
- Professional enclosure and panel layout
- Identify and correct issues before project completion
Leadership & Execution
- Lead job sites and coordinate with PMs and scheduling
- Train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians
- Communicate risks, delays, and needs proactively
- Ensure projects are completed on time and to scope
Troubleshooting & Service
- Diagnose and resolve issues across:
- Access control systems
- Surveillance systems
- Alarm systems
- VoIP and network systems
- Utilize meters and diagnostic tools effectively
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain detailed service notes in ConnectWise
- Track time, materials, and external support involvement
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams
Experience & Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in security, low-voltage, or telecom
- Strong experience with access control, cameras, and alarms
- Experience with VoIP systems and basic networking
- Ability to lead jobs independently
- Strong troubleshooting skills
· Valid driver’s license p
- Reliable, daily transportation to and from the office and assigned job sites (this position may provide a take-home vehicle at the discretion of the Company)
Preferred:
- Experience with Brivo, Eagle Eye Networks, Honeywell, and Bosch/Radionix systems
- Prior leadership or foreman experience
