We’re partnering with our client, a leading law firm based in Chicago, to identify a Legal Operations Specialist to support a highly dynamic, project-driven role.
This role focuses on coordinating and enhancing core business workflows while supporting a variety of operational initiatives that improve efficiency, consistency, and cross-team alignment across the organization. The position offers strong visibility and frequent interaction with internal stakeholders at multiple levels, along with meaningful ownership over processes and projects.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift and attention to detail is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support end-to-end intake and processing of internal requests, ensuring accuracy, prioritization, and timely completion
- Oversee the coordination of ongoing operational initiatives and special projects, including tracking milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to support workflow execution and resolve day-to-day process needs
- Support the development, refinement, and documentation of internal procedures and operational guidelines
- Work cross-functionally to help streamline processes and improve consistency across teams
- Utilize project tracking tools to maintain visibility into workloads, deadlines, and progress across multiple initiatives
- Maintain, organize, and continuously improve structured digital filing systems and records management practices
- Identify process gaps and support implementation of practical improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a law firm, legal environment, insurance, or similarly structured professional services setting
- Strong background in operational coordination, workflow management, or project support roles
- Advanced Excel skills required, including experience with tracking, reporting, and data organization
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Experience with project management platforms strongly preferred (Wrike or similar tools a plus)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of seniority
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and bring structure to complex or evolving workflows
