Our client, a well-known and respected investment management company, is seeking a highly strategic and detail-oriented Legal Operations & Business Systems Manager to lead and enhance the effectiveness of their Legal Operations function. This role sits at the intersection of legal, technology, and business strategy that will drive operational excellence, optimize systems, and ensure compliance across a complex and evolving environment. The ideal candidate is both analytical and forward-thinking, with a passion for process improvement, data-driven decision-making, and leveraging technology (including automation and AI) to elevate performance.
**Please note this is a hybrid, temp-to-perm position based in San Francsico, CA. Pay will be $115k-$135k/yr.**
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead corporate governance and entity management processes, including formations, filings, and maintenance of legal documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations; monitor changes and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Manage trusts administration, bank and investment account operations, and support contract review and legal documentation
- Oversee Legal Ops systems and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI), ensuring data accuracy and efficiency
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system integrations to streamline workflows and enhance performance
- Lead and execute cross-functional projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met
- Partner closely with Legal, IT, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to optimize systems and operations
- Serve as a trusted point of contact, managing sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
- Identify and implement emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions, to improve reporting and operational effectiveness
- Support team development through training, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Qualifications:
- 3–4 years of experience in Corporate Paralegal, Legal Operations, Program Management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and risk management
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive process improvements
- Experience with systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Expertise in data analytics, reporting, and automation tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence
