Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Legal Assistant role based in our Chicago Loop office. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and case support to attorneys and paralegals. Our preferred candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills, possesses excellent organizational skills and must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities include:

  • Greet clients in person and phone, documenting all information needed to determine how to route the guest.
  • Accurately enter client information into client database/case management system.
  • Prepare requested tracking and spreadsheet information.
  • Assist Paralegals and Attorneys in administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, file organization, and phone calling.
  • Prepare and mail letters of representation to insurance companies.
  • Request and organize medical records and bills
  • Possess a professional demeanor with effective communication and phone skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to organize tasks and responsibilities, and timely follow up as required
  • Help coordinate the day-to-day operations of this office location.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Translate for clients and documents if multilingual


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a professional office or setting
  • Experience in a legal office or working in a legal/law office environment
  • Experience ordering and organizing medical records and bills
  • Experience with Case Management Software
  • Microsoft Office Experience including MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Adobe
  • Experience with phone interaction
  • Demonstrated record of regular work attendance
  • Must be dependable and reliable


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Spanish speaking is a plus

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $20.00- $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

Schedule:

  • Monday -Thursday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
  • Friday 8:00 am-3:30 pm
